Annie Enneking is a Minneapolis based singer-songwriter, actor, dancer, fight director, and teaching artist. She is a Full Instructor with Dueling Arts International, and teaches theatre and stage combat at various institutions, ranging from elementary schools to college level courses (University of Minnesota, St Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, Guthrie Theatre, Children’s Theatre Company Theatre Arts Training program, and the Neighborhood Bridges program).
She has been a performing artist in the Twin Cities for over twenty-eight years, acting with Workhaus Collective, Children’s Theatre Company, The Guthrie, Walking Shadow Theatre, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Playwrights’ Center, Frank Theatre, and the Jungle Theatre. As an active fight director, Annie has staged violence at The Guthrie/BFA University of Minnesota BFA program (Video Games, The Rover), The Children’s Theatre Company (Jackie and Me, Buccaneers, Peter Pan, Iron Ring, Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy, Columbinus), the Grand Marais Playhouse (Treasure Island, Macbeth, The Beaux Stratagem), The Jungle Theatre (The Birthday Party, Venus in Fur, Noises Off), Frank Theatre (By the Bog of Cats, Eclipsed), and Park Square Theatre (Panic, Of Mice and Men, Sherlock Holmes), Theatre Latte Da (Aida). She recently received a Princess Grace Fellowship for the Dueling Arts 2012 Stage Combat Winter Workshop.
Annie was a finalist for the 2009 Bush Fellowship, and a recipient of the 2010 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant, in support of her original music theatre work, The Joans. Annie was a 2010 Playwrights’ Center McKnight Theater Artist Fellow. She is the singer, songwriter, and guitarist for the rock band Annie and the Bang Bang, who’ve just released their self-titled, debut album with the support of the Minnesota Regional Arts Council’s Next Step Fund.
